How can I get ST caste certificate in Odisha?
- District Magistrate/Collector
- Additional District Magistrate
- Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Office
- Executive Magisrates
- Revenue Officers not below the rank of the Tahasildar/Additional Tahasildars
- All O.A.S.,B.D.Os
- The Sarpanch of the Grama Panchayat in respect of persons residing within the jurisdiction of the Grama Panchayat concerned.
- The Chairman of the Municipality/NAC/Municipal Corporation
- Members of the Legislative Assembly in respect of their constituencies
- Members of the Parliament in respect of their constituencies.
- That the person and his parents actually belong to the community claimed.
- That the community is included in the Presidential Order specifying the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in relation to the State of Odisha.
- That the person belongs to the State of Odisha and to the area in respect of which the community has been scheduled.
- If a person claims to be a Scheduled Caste, he should profess either the Hindu or Sikh religion.
- If a person claims to be a Scheduled Tribe, he may profess any religion.
How to apply caste certificate online in Odisha ?
- Open the portal (https://edistrict.odisha.gov.in) in your favourite web browser .
- Register in the portal for creating a login account. It is a one time process for availing all services under edistrict portal. Plz check how to register in service Plus Portal.
- Once the registration is over, click on the certificate you want to apply. A
new window will open. Click on apply for services. Then click on online.
Enter your login credentials (i.e. either with your registered email ID or
Mobile Number). After successful login the application form will appear.
- Steps for submitting Application Form
- Fill the application Form.
- Verify the data. (Edit if required).
- Attach the Annexure Documents.
- Submit the application form.
- On successful submission an Acknowledgement slip will be generated which will be available in your view application status. It can be downloaded and printed for offline reference.
- A SMS conformation containing application reference number will be send to the applicant mobile number mentioned in the form.
- You can track the status of the application in “Track Application Status” section.
- A SMS will send to the applicant after issue / reject of the application.
- Applicant can download the certificate from “Track Application Status”.

What is the validity of ST certificate in Odisha ?
ST certificate is issued to a person if he fulfills the following conditions:
- That the person and his parents actually belong to the community claimed.

- That the person belongs to the State of Odisha and to the area in respect of which the community has been scheduled.

Q.How long St Sc certificate is valid in Odisha?
Ans:ST certificate is valid for lifetime i.e. it is valid till the Sub-caste is removed from the Presidential Order. However, the SC certificate is not valid for lifetime,i.e. if a Scheduled Caste person gets converted to any religion other than Hinduism and Sikhism, he /she would lose the SC status.
Q.If a Scheduled Tribe person converts to Christianity, does he loss his ST status ?
Ans: No, Conversion does not affect Scheduled Tribe status.
